In windows, a few clicks, I can embed say, my google calender in my desktop, really handy. I could have done this with Windows 98, if it had been around.

Doing it in Linux? Found a howto, which involved downloading/compiling software to get it to work, or installing heaps of stuff I do not need, mostly from the command line.

I found some other solutions which basically took a screenshot of the page and displayed it as a picture, useless!

This is an example where linux is another example where linux is a decade behind microsoft.
